SAP Highlights MENA’s Top Business Solution Innovations

ADGAS, RAK Ceramics, Combined Group Contracting Co., and the Saudi Electric Company are the Middle East’s leading business solution innovators, after winning gold in SAP’s high-profile Quality Awards.
The SAP Quality Awards celebrate customers who have excelled in the planning and execution of their SAP software implementations, in line with SAP's 10 quality principles including effectively managing and executing implementations, delivering significantly enhanced ROI, and achieving implementations that are both fast and at an enhanced value.
“Companies of all sizes across the Middle East and Africa (MENA) are driving innovation and derive tangible business value with software implementations,” said Frank Forndron, Director - Head of Quality Management, SAP EMEA Emerging Markets & SAP MENA. “The SAP Quality Awards not only celebrate successful software implementations, but also spread best practices that help businesses make an impact on national economies and drive job creation.”
The four gold winners now advance to the SAP Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Quality Awards in March 2014.
In the Innovation category, the UAE’s ADGAS, the region’s leading LNG and LPG producer, won gold for partnering with Ozone Middle East on implementing the SAP analytics platform.
“As ADGAS continues to expand, we needed to be able to track a wider range of data than ever before, and thrive to provide business value using efficient system to analyse reliable data accurately and quickly,” said Jasim Josham Al Ali, VP(Integrity & Quality) ADGAS
The world’s largest ceramics manufacturer, the UAE’s RAK Ceramics, won gold in the Large Enterprise category for partnering with SAP Services MENA to deploy a business transformation project in only eight months, delivering strong business benefits.
“A successful SAP implementation must radically increase the depth of the company’s understanding of the market and how the business must operate to win,” said Dinesh Mohan, CIO, RAK Ceramics. “RAK Ceramics has achieved tangible business benefits through the SAP implementation in all key areas of the business.”
Silver winners included the UAE’s Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group LLC and PwC in Innovation category for business planning and consolidation, Saudi Arabian Airlines and Wipro in the Large Enterprise category for a business transformation project in their real estate and development business units, the UAE’s Dubai Golf LLC and Fujitsu in the Medium Implementations category for one of the world’s first end-to-end ERP project at a golf club, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Sadara Chemical Company and Wipro in the Small Implementations category for automating key banking and treasury processes.
Bronze winners included Qatargas and SAP MENA Services in the Innovation category for implementing SAP analytics platform and dashboards, Qatar’s Muntajat and SAP MENA Services in the Large Enterprise category for a full scale ERP project utilizing SAP’s Rapid Deployment Solution, the UAE’s Etihad Rail and HCL in the Medium Implementations category for a rapid deployment of SAP ERP for their operations, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Al Fanar Company and AEKA Consulting in the Small Implementations category for deploying a mobile sales platform for sales force automation.
