The SANS Institute’s hugely popular course, SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp Style will take place in Manama’s Sheraton Bahrain Hotel from 17-22 May, 2014. Students registering and paying before 2nd of April save US$ 250 on the course fee.
Led by certified SANS Instructor Ted Demopoulos, ‘SEC401: Security Essentials Bootcamp Style’ is an intensive, 6-day course that teaches the essential skills and techniques needed to protect and secure an organisation's critical information assets and business systems. The course is renowned worldwide as the learning track that should be undertaken before attempting GIAC’s vital GSEC Certification exam.
This is a public course and SANS welcomes registrations from all organisations and nationalities. However Bahraini nationals can apply for funding for this course via the Tamkeen Professional Certifications Scheme (TPCS). Under this government funded programme, applicants can choose from a list of certifications accredited by the most reputed awarding bodies in the world. A list of approved certification and the Tamkeen application form is available via http://tpcs.tamkeenpartners.net/
SANS recommends that Bahraini students begin the Tamkeen funding application process as soon as possible, but applicants should also reserve their place on the course by registering online while awaiting Tamkeen approval. Please contact the event co-ordinator at emea@sans.org with any queries regarding this process.
“I first took SANS Security Essentials in 2000 after I had been working in security for over a decade, and wondered what I'd learn. I was simply amazed and learned far more than I ever could have expected. Since then, the class has got even better, and I'm proud to teach it,” says Ted Demopoulos.
