Ericsson: Identifies Opportunities For Growth In NME

Published Oct 12, 2009
Adopting the latest technology brings in a competitive edge, and a new scope of solutions to the avenues of business, health, education and entertainment around the world.

According to Tarek Saadi, Head of Northern Middle East region, Ericsson Market Unit Middle East, going beyond 3G foresees a myriad of new interesting applications for enterprises and individuals alike.

Those applications that aim to improve the availability and flow of information in different parts of the society and the overall business efficiency, such as health care, TV, video games and music, are addressed globally, says Saadi.

Precisely in that field Ericsson identifies opportunities for growth and potential for delivering innovative solutions in the Northern Middle East region.

“The market needs the right technical platform for further aggressive growth in the telecom industry,” says Saadi.

By providing end to end services, Ericsson is able to successfully introduce and implement value added offerings.

Ericsson implements the needed technology platform for 3G; it also reaches out to the end user by controlling, monitoring and offering the best services and quality for this whole chain, explains Saadi.

The telecommunication area in the North Middle East region has been growing at a rapid pace in 2009.

Tackling the opportunities for growth in the region will be one of the anticipated challenges for Ericsson in the coming years.

In order to meet this challenge, Ericsson is furthering its investment in R&D and technical support areas related to value added services.

Moreover, in order to meet the fast pace of development in the technology field, Ericsson NME has also established a training center in Lebanon for both external and internal operation infrastructure in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge.

More importantly, Ericsson responds proactively to the short lifecycles of various technologies.

“Speed is crucial in developing the right competences especially in 3G and beyond, in LTE,” says Saadi and elaborates that Ericsson seeks to further strengthening its leadership position by adapting to various market needs.

“Actually, in each country we operate, we are building strong local competence to support our customers,” he concluded.

Also, Ericsson has established a service delivery center in Jordan. There, Ericsson’s service delivery management is overseeing the local competence development and is providing all the required support to the Northern Middle East region to ensure that “we provide our customers with the highest level of service.” Concluded Saadi.
