Published Apr 29, 2014

StorIT, the leading data storage specialist value added distributor in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, announced that together with Quantum, it held successful ‘Quantum Backup workshops’ for customers and partners in Dubai and Riyadh this month. The workshops covered product presentations on Quantum’s traditional tape library and disk appliance solutions and highlighted the benefits of partners joining Quantum’s partner Alliance program.

“StorIT held joint workshops with Quantum in Dubai and Riyadh, which was a huge success with more than 30 channel partners and customers attending the event in both cities. Andrew Childs, Regional Sales Manager at Quantum held an interactive presentation covering a wider perspective in a changing backup and archive environment, Francois Eid, Presales Consultant - Expansion Markets at Quantum spoke on the features and benefits of using Quantum’s latest solutions. They also shared their regional business strategies, introduced their latest technologies, shared global success stories and highlighted the benefits of Quantum’s partner alliance program. The workshops were a success with our channel partners giving us positive and encouraging feedback on the events. Looking at the response we received from the events in UAE and Saudi, we have decided to hold similar workshops in other countries in the region as well,” says Mohammed Abdul Hadi, Channel Account Manager, StorIT Distribution.

The Quantum Backup workshop in Dubai and Riyadh were the first of the series of multi-city events that StorIT and Quantum have planned for channel partners across the region. The events were also an opportunity for senior executives from Quantum to meet with partners and understand their regional requirements.

“Quantum is moving its attention from traditional data protection using tape libraries to a broader solution set covering a wider application layer, including data de-duplication, replication and object storage, to provide greater availability using dedicated storage platforms, and alternatively cloud environments, public, private or hybrid. These workshops were an ideal platform for us to present our solutions to a niche audience while also explaining our channel initiatives and partner alliance program to our channel,” says Andrew Childs, Regional Sales Manager, Quantum.

The Quantum Alliance Partner Program is dedicated to helping resellers and distributors around the world increase their sales of Quantum's Tape Libraries, Autoloaders, Disk-Based Backup Systems, Drives and Media products. By joining the program, resellers will receive sales support and training, toll free technical support and up-to-date product and promotional information from Quantum in addition to receiving regular incentives and rewards for their performance.
