A10 Networks, a technology leader in application networking, announced today that the A10 Thunder Threat Protection System (TPS) product line won two prestigious Best of TechEd 2014 awards: one in the Breakthrough Technology category and the “Attendees’ Pick: Microsoft Partner” award. Penton’s Best of TechEd awards, co-sponsored by Microsoft and Windows IT Pro, recognize Microsoft partners that offer innovative products and services for the industry. Winners were announced at the Microsoft TechEd North America 2014 conference in Houston, Texas.
“This year, we judged products in nine technical categories. We vetted the nominations from more than 200 entries down to three and sometimes four finalists in each category. It’s really exciting to see so many companies creating products that truly help IT professionals and developers make the most of technology advancements. These products add business value for the people who adopt them. As cloud and mobile become more integral to the workplace, innovation continues to accelerate at a rapid pace. Windows IT Pro is proud to be on the front line for evaluating the best technology solutions,” said Amy Eisenberg, Editor-in-Chief of Windows IT Pro.
The A10 Thunder TPS appliance product line provides high-performance, network-wide protection against distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, and ensures that service availability is maintained in the face of volumetric, protocol, resource and other sophisticated application attacks. A10 showcased the Thunder TPS product live at TechEd—continuously mitigating a 200 million packet per second SYN flood attack over 100 Gbps (at Layer 4) produced by Ixia load generation equipment, while simultaneously mitigating multiple sophisticated application attacks (at Layer 7) from well-known attack tools.
“Winning these awards highlights A10’s focus on providing innovative application networking solutions that resonate with customers,” said Jason Matlof, vice president of worldwide marketing at A10 Networks. “We were honored to win two awards at TechEd last year, and especially thank the Microsoft IT community for choosing A10 products as the Attendees’ Pick for the second year running.”
