Samsung Launches Windows 7 Notebooks And Netbooks At Gitex Shopper

Published Oct 18, 2009

Samsung Electronics, a market leader in consumer electronics and world leader in Information Technology, will launch at Gitex Shopper its first notebook in the ‘thin and light’ notebook marketplace with the X420 notebook, the first edition in the all new ultra-lightweight X-series. The company also launched the N510 to come with Windows 7 and HD performance, offering state-of-the-art technology in a stylish design that Samsung customers have come to expect.

"With the new Samsung X420 ultra-thin notebook and the entertaining N510 netbook, gone are the days when the consumer had to choose between style and performance. Now you can have it all in one extremely stylish package at a price that is affordable for everyone," said Madhav Narayan, General manger of the IT division at Samsung Gulf Electronics. “Consumers visiting Gitex Shopper will not only be able to see Windows 7, but take home a Samsung notebook or netbook running Windows 7.”

The X-series features Intel’s latest ultra-thin, dual-core mobile processor technology, and the longest battery life available in its class, with its 6-cell battery delivering up to 9 hours of computing power.

“The new Samsung X420 is a new move into the expanding market of extremely thin and light notebooks which combine the light design of netbooks with the function of full notebooks. This new range has great potential to consumers who refuse to choose between style and performance,” added Narayan.

Samsung X420 Notebook
Available with Windows 7, X420 features the longest battery life available in its class, with one 6 cell battery delivering up to 9 hours of power to keep you going all day long. The secret behind the X420's exceptional power efficiency is the unique combination of its low energy LED display, optimised processing performance and Samsung’s class-leading engineering. So no matter how hectic your day you’re always ready to go anywhere and do anything.

Astonishingly, the X420 boasts an ultra-sleek and slimline design that is just 23.2 mm in depth and weighs only 1.76 kg leaving you free to go the extra mile of freedom and move.

Drawing inspiration from the pure symmetry of a clam's shell, the X420’s minimalist design features a glossy finish, subtly accentuated by its raised, silver-chrome sides. The X420 is available in three different colors: pearl black, pearl white and titanium silver.

The X420’s large 14” LED display also means that you’ll always stay completely in the picture. As well as delivering clear, bright images its proper 16:9 aspect ratio ensures the most accurate representation of High Definition (HD) movies and games, without any picture distortion or annoying black bands.

Samsung N510 Netbook
The N510’s 11.6" non-gloss LED display delivers crisp, clean images and features a proper 16:9 aspect ratio, so the latest HD movies and games look exactly as they were intended, filling the entire screen without any distortion or annoying black bands.

Despite its compact and stylish design, the N510 also features a dedicated, high performance NVIDIA ION LE graphics card. With image processing ten times faster than existing netbooks, movies and 3D games are more life-like, sports are delivered in smooth, flowing detail and 3D images almost leap out of the screen.

For a complete multimedia experience the N510 also features an integrated SRS 2.1ch sound system with 3 Watt stereo speakers. You only hear what you’re supposed to hear, and the Sound Retrieval System (SRS) delivers richer 3D sound.

As well as offering great entertainment, the N510 is also designed for effortless mobile communication and connectivity. It features three USB 2.0 ports, including one that can charge portable devices, such as mobile phones and MP3 players, even when the netbook is turned off. It also boasts an HDMI port for quick connection to a television and a 3-in-1 memory card reader for easy data sharing.
