ESET to Launch Most Advanced Versions of Flagship Security Solutions at GITEX 2014

ESET®, the global leader in proactive digital protection, has announced it participation at GITEX Technology Week 2014 where it is set to unveil ESET Smart Security 8 and ESET NOD32 Antivirus 8, the latest versions in its line of industry acclaimed security solutions. The company is one of the leading vendors of mobile device protection products and will also use the exhibition as a platform to demonstrate its capabilities in this area.

“Mobile security has taken precedence for ESET since the Middle East is a particularly active market, both in terms of the sophistication and volume of mobile devices used and the threats that users face. Smartphone usage is set to rise and take on an increasingly prominent role in driving productivity, collaboration and convenience, for personal as well as business purposes. We want to give our customers the tools they require to utilize these devices to their maximum potential without having to worry about mobile viruses, trojans, phishing and data leakage due to loss or theft,” said Pradeesh VS, General Manager at ESET Middle East.

The company will also leverage its presence at GITEX to educate and inform attendees about the latest threats and IT security concerns in the region. “We will host demonstrations and awareness sessions at our stand and will run exciting promotions that are sure to generate a lot of interest in our solutions,” said Pradeesh. He added that as GITEX is the biggest IT exhibition in the region, ESET's strong participation would be vital to highlighting its commitment to both customers and partners in the region.

ESET NOD32® Antivirus 8 and ESET Smart Security® 8 feature Botnet Protection and Enhanced Exploit Blocker that protect against exploits and offer anti-phishing and social media scanning capabilities. These new features provide users of these advanced security solutions with enhanced levels of security, whether they are checking email, surfing the web or checking their bank balance online. The new Botnet Protection feature protects a user’s computer from being taken over by a remote attacker and used as part of a network of infected computers for malicious purposes. ESET Smart Security® 8 also includes proven features such as Anti-theft, Parental Control and Personal Firewall. Both solutions are built on the same technologies that have led ESET to win the most consecutive VB100 awards as compared to any other vendor.

For its mobile customers, the security vendor offers ESET Mobile Security for Android which is available as a free download from the Google Play store that can then be upgraded to the paid version. In addition to basic feature such as antivirus, real-time scanning, remote locking, GPS location, the solution is packed with a number of premium features that include remote wiping, SIM-matching, SMS and call filtering, proactive anti-theft and anti-phishing.

ESET has regularly participated at GITEX and will be demonstrating its solutions at stand A1-13.
