Middle East Businesses in Demand for Cyber Security Solutions

There is definite increase in demand for cyber security solutions from Middle East businesses, according to industry experts Omnix International, announcing the launch of their Cyber Security Practice.

Globally, businesses are facing the highest-ever levels of cyber-attacks, with global security threat alerts increasing by 14 percent from 2012 to 2013, according to Cisco’s 2014 Annual Security Threat Report.

Worldwide, the cyber security market is set to reach USD 120.1 billion by 2017, growing at a CAGR of 11.3 percent from 2012-2017, according to research company Markets and Markets.

As more organizations across the region shift their physical IT infrastructure to online, in a bid to reduce costs and support smart devices, IT infrastructure spending in the Middle East and Africa is set to reach USD 3.47 billion in 2014, an increase of 4.1 percent over 2013, according to Gartner Inc.

“The Middle East is seeing an increase in the demand for IT services in online and mobile mode. This has increased IT Security risks exponentially resulting in a high demand for proactive Cyber Security solutions,” said Asef Sleiman, CISO and General Manager at systems integrators Omnix International, whose Enterprise Networking Solutions (ENS) division launched its Cyber Security Practice.

Building on the technical expertise of implementing integrated IT Infrastructure Solutions the company’s Cyber Security Practice provides turnkey network security and information security-related solutions and services across verticals such as government, healthcare, education, hospitality, contracting, and financial sectors.
