A10 Networks Hires Ericsson Veteran Gunter Reiss to Lead Expanded Strategic Alliances and Business Development Organization

Published Nov 2, 2014

A10 Networks, a technology leader in application networking, today announced the appointment of Ericsson veteran Gunter Reiss as vice president of strategic alliances. In this role, Reiss will oversee business development activities, including strategic alliances and technology partnerships, as well as OEM relationships. Reiss joins the company at a time of significant interest by customers, channel partners, and technology companies in the Thunder portfolio, including the ADC (application delivery controller), CGN (carrier grade networking) and new Thunder TPS (threat protection system) DDoS mitigation solutions.

Reiss joins A10 Networks from Ericsson, where during his 21-year tenure, he most recently served as vice president of business development and strategy for product area IP & Broadband, based in the Silicon Valley region of California. Previously he held senior roles in business, partnership, alliances and strategy development at Ericsson in Austria, Sweden and Texas. He also spent three years in England with Damovo and IPC. Reiss served on the board of privately held Skorpios Technologies and was a member of the Sun Microsystems customer advisory board. He received his electrical engineering degree from the Higher Technical School in Vienna, Austria.

“Gunter joins A10 Networks at a great time where the interest in the market in working with us is high,” said Ray Smets, vice president global sales, A10 Networks. “His vast experience is a perfect fit for A10 Networks at this stage of our growth. The relationships he will develop with key technology partners globally will support our growth strategies in the enterprise, data center, cloud and service provider market.”

“A10 Networks is a leader in application networking and its agile and innovative Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS) and Thunder portfolio continue to disrupt the Application Delivery Controller (ADC) and cloud network security markets,” said Reiss. “I am ecstatic to join the team at A10 Networks and look forward to helping accelerate its growth by successfully expanding its strategic alliances and partnership ecosystem globally.”
