Red Hat’s Participation at Saudi Arabian HPC User’s Group Conference a Big Success

Published Dec 15, 2014

Red Hat participated as an exhibit sponsor of the Saudi Arabian High Performance Computing (SAHPC) User’ Group Conference that was held between December 7-8, 2014 at the Movenpick hotel in Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Executives from Red Hat interacted with other High Performance Computing (HPC) industry leaders and entered into discussions regarding collaborations in business, research, and education, and advancing the development of HPC applications.

High Performance Computing (HPC) most generally refers to the practice of aggregating computing power in a way that delivers much higher performance than one could get out of a typical desktop computer or workstation in order to solve large problems in science, engineering, or business. In today’s information age with growing trends like ‘big data’, the need for acceleration of data processing is growing exponentially and enterprises are turning to HPC. Universities, research institutions and enterprises across various industry segments like oil and gas, finance, healthcare and biosciences, telecommunication, government and defense etc. can benefit tremendously by deploying HPC solutions. Saudi Arabia has been witnessing an unprecedented interest in deploying high performance clusters for both industrial and R&D purposes.

Red Hat has a revolutionary platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux that can help enterprises lay the foundation for these high performance clusters. It provides distributed data or computational resources with competitive advantage, greatly simplified complexity and the flexibility and performance to address peak computational demands by leveraging and integrating the three fundamental technologies of messaging, realtime and grid. Red Hat executives educated conference attendees about Red Hat HPC innovations like this and other technologies including the Red Hat Storage Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server for High-Performance Computing (HPC).
