Bit9 + Carbon Black extends reach in UAE

Published Dec 24, 2014

Bit9 + Carbon Black, the leader in endpoint threat prevention, detection and response, has continued to reinforce its presence in the UAE, with its leading advanced endpoint threat detection and response solution, Carbon Black--generating high interest from the local market. The company recently showcased Carbon Black’s modern features before industry leaders, stakeholders and prospective clients in a high-level seminar in Dubai. The solution’s real-time detection and response capabilities were also highlighted during the event through the presentation delivered by Dell SecureWorks, which uses Carbon Black in its Advanced Endpoint Threat Detection (AETD) managed service.

The seminar held at the Burj Al Arab presented how Carbon Black delivers continuous monitoring and recording of all activities on endpoints and servers, customizing detection, and responding to network intrusions in seconds. Bit9 + Carbon Black highlighted how organizations regardless of size can further fortify their cyber defenses through Carbon Black.

Aquib Aftab, Regional Director, Bit 9 + Carbon Black in the Middle East said: “The seminar comes at a time when the Middle East is steadily moving towards smart services and inter-connectivity to catch up with a highly technology-centric world. The region has been experiencing serious security threats targeting government entities, businesses and individuals at an alarmingly increasing rate. Security breaches can cause extensive major financial, privacy and intellectual property losses as well as reputation problems. It is, therefore, important to shield ourselves from such online intrusions, and we believe that the battleground is at the endpoint.”

“Carbon Black reduces the cost and complexity of incident response by replacing ‘after-the-fact’ manual data acquisition with continuous monitoring and recording of all activity on endpoints and servers. Our collaboration with Dell SecureWorks helps its clients significantly reinforce their online defenses. We look forward to forming partnerships with other organizations in the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries as we continuously intensify our initiatives against cyber attacks in the region and the rest of the world,” Aftab added.

Mark Morland, Regional Sales Director, Dell SecureWorks, said: “Some of the most serious cyber breaches to date are a result of organizations having one or more of their endpoints compromised. Cyber criminals continue to perfect their tactics and procedures, enabling them to avoid many of today’s cyber defenses. Therefore, it is critical that organizations employ comprehensive and robust network security, as well as ‘always-on’ 24x7 Endpoint Security.”

Our AETD Service combined with an unparalleled view into the attack landscape, gives organizations the earliest possible warning that their endpoints may be hosting an adversary and helps pinpoint exactly where they are hiding.

Carbon Black’s features ideally fit all our requirements. By providing the right data in one location, the Carbon Black sensor collects the critical pieces of data needed most during an investigation, allowing security teams, including entry-level staff, to perform a conclusive incident response in seconds. Such features help us deliver on our commitment to provide cutting-edge solutions and services to our clients.”
