Published Feb 22, 2015

CommVault has announced it will be participating at the IDC CIO Summit taking place between February 25-26, 2015 at the Atlantis Hotel, Dubai and will demonstrate how regional organizations in the Middle East can protect, manage and extract business value from their data through its revolutionary all-in-one Simpana® 10 software platform.

“The role of a CIO today has evolved and he/ she is increasingly expected to play a key role in helping the organization achieve a competitive advantage through technology. Today when deciding to embark on an IT project, it’s not so much looking at technical features of various products, but more about evaluating which solutions will have the most business value impact on the organization – what solutions will give you the highest return on investment (ROI), the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) and meet business needs,” says Bassam Hemdan, AVP at CommVault.

“Trends like big data, mobility and BYOD and cloud computing are bringing chaos, excessive costs, complexity and security challenges into the organization. Data is the lifeblood of businesses today and a truly holistic approach to data and information management delivers an unparalleled advantage. The CIO Summit presents the ideal platform for CommVault to showcase Simpana, the industry-leading software platform that protects corporate data in faster and more cost efficient ways, while transforming enterprises into scalable, intelligent, and far more productive units. We shall demonstrate how by using Simpana, regional customers can slash costs by as much as half, reduce administrative overhead by up to 80 percent and lower aggregate support costs by up to 35 percent.”

With cloud adoption accelerating in the Middle East, CommVault will also aim to educate event attendees about the company’s cloud-enhanced Simpana Solution Sets, first introduced in August of last year. As enterprises deploy private and hybrid clouds to increase business agility, Simpana Solution Sets are designed to speed cloud adoption and data center modernization by delivering next-generation software innovations. Supporting mobile productivity and improved self-service access, they help customers lower cost and reduce risk with enhanced data and information management for all leading cloud, hypervisor and storage platforms. CommVault supports more cloud platforms than any other software vendor, allowing customers to seamlessly automate data management across cloud, hypervisor and storage platforms – including support for Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware vSphere, Citrix XenServer and HDS and NetApp systems.

Megha Kumar, Research Manager – Software, IDC MEA says, “Organizations in the Middle East are experiencing exponential data growth where the data that needs to structured, managed and protected. Data retention for compliance purposes adds to the complexity. Rationalization of IT budgets means that rather than procuring additional capacity, organizations need to look at processes and solutions that can simplify and automate data management. Automation and consolidation of data management improves process efficiency and workforce productivity.”
