Middle East Institutions Lacking Preparation and Comprehensive Monitoring Systems Face more Risk of Cyber Attacks, Says Bit9 + Carbon Black Report

Published Mar 22, 2015

According to a study done by Bit9 + Carbon Black, sixty-five percent of recent data breaches in the Middle East happened on company endpoints, which are often targeted because that is where the valuable data resides. Bit9 + Carbon Black, the leader in endpoint threat prevention, detection and response, will be displaying its diverse range of security solutions designed to address the technology risks in today’s market at the E-Crime Information Security Congress on March 18, 2015, at the Conrad, Dubai. With the event focusing on managing information security and technology risk in a global marketplace, Bit9 + Carbon Black will address today’s increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks which have the potential to severely impact businesses across diverse sectors.

With regards to contemporary issues, Bit9 + Carbon Black believes that preparation is the most crucial factor in cyber security. With this in mind, Bit 9 + Carbon Black urges businesses to put an emphasis on automating data collection processes, using the application of collective threat intelligence to increase visibility, utilizing recorded history to better understand the entire kill chain, proper monitoring of endpoint threats, improvement of response processes and implementing time-efficient procedures.

David Flower, Managing Director, EMEA, for Bit9 + Carbon Black, said: “Old tools are no longer viable in today’s technologically advanced cyber attacks; businesses now need a modern and comprehensive defense mechanism. Our solution not only reduces the cost but is also more time efficient. We replace the traditional ‘after-the-fact’ manual data acquisition with real time monitoring of endpoints and server activities, which enable businesses to intervene, contain, inspect and correct any possible oncoming threat.”

The E-Crime and Information Security series, held throughout Europe and the Middle East, is designed to be a dynamic and interactive platform for representatives of both the public and private sector to engage with the top security solutions providers in the market today. Attended by key experts and influencers in the field, the congress aims to help businesses and agencies defend their IT systems against emerging and online threats within established international regulations.

“This event is a gateway to crucial information on the latest trends and current issues in cybercrime and safety today. It provides an opportunity for the decision makers, service suppliers and experienced software security professionals to speak on risk based controls. The Dubai leg of E-Crime and Information Securities series urges public and private sector to participate in campaign against cyber crim. As the one of the industry’s pioneer in endpoint threat detection and response solution, we are looking forward to sharing our insights and technical advice on this topic,” said Flower.
