AUC/School of Continuing Education and SAP: Critical Skills for an Age of Discovery

The School of Continuing Education of The American University in Cairo has signed a University Alliance agreement with SAP, the world's largest business software company and the third-biggest independent software provider by revenue.
The signing ceremony, which took place recently at AUC Tahrir Square campus, is set to bind Egypt’s Global University and the world leader in enterprise applications together in order to further enhance students’ learning experience. With this agreement AUC is now the 100th member to join the SAP University Alliances program community in the MENA region.
The SAP solutions provided will help graduates apply their employability and technical skills to virtual and real business cases. In addition, they will also enable students to explore future entrepreneurships.
Dr. Deena Boraie, Dean of the School of Continuing Education, welcomed the opportunity to conclude an agreement with SAP and stressed that this agreement will help the school provide some fundamental employability skills and additional lifelong learning opportunities for learners. Dr. Boraie stated: “We strive to offer a range of educational opportunities that meet the needs and lifestyles of our diverse learners who come to study at SCE.”
“Our highly regarded continuing education programs, which will now include selected SAP-relevant topics, are available in a variety of face-to-face and blended formats and flexible schedules during the day, evenings, weekends and intensive institutes all throughout the year,” she continued.
The University Alliances program will facilitate opportunities for the School of Continuing Education to fulfill the diverse needs of the community by offering a broader array of professional educational certificates and stand-alone courses. With the signing, The American University in Cairo can take part in SAP competitions and contests, send students to Innovation and Design Thinking events, and get directly involved in research and the development of new SAP solutions.

It also underscores our commitment to developing talented youth in Egypt, which has become a hub and a major exporter of talent for the region,” said Marita Mitschein, SAP’s Senior Vice President for Strategic Investments and Managing Director for SAP Training & Development Institute, SAP MENA.
"We are confident that with the academic offerings of AUC’s School of Continuing Education’s, combined with SAP's business know-how, will open up new career opportunities for graduates and give them early exposure to potential employers,” added Mitschein.
Dr. Boraie signed the agreement on behalf of the School of Continuing Education while Ms. Marita Mitschein, Managing Director SAP MENA Training & Development Institute signed on behalf of SAP.

SAP operates a network of 115 subsidiaries with a focus on six industry sectors: process industries, discrete industries, consumer industries, service industries, financial services and public services.
