Etisalat Showcases Managed UTM Services For Consolidated Network Security

At Gitex Technology Week 2009, Etisalat today announced its intention to expand its Managed Services initiative by showcasing its Managed UTM (Unified Threat Management) solutions which will provide fully integrated, multi-faceted protection from network threats, through one single device. Companies will be able to deploy scalable, cost-effective solutions based on Juniper Networks SSG Series Secure Services Gateways.
Due to increased security threats, organizations today are proactively looking to protect their networks with more robust security solutions like UTM that offer the performance and features required to effectively protect them against increasingly sophisticated Internet threats. The Managed UTM service will help customers reduce the complexity of handling multiple security solutions and give them a centralized management capability through Etisalat.
According to Abdulla Hashim, Sr. VP, Business Solutions, Etisalat: “ In terms of a Managed UTM service , companies today are increasingly looking for a comprehensive security gateway to protect their network at multiple levels. Our service will provide a truly integrated security service to customers from SMB and enterprises and will help them to easily manage their network security in an environment affected by budgetary constraints in addition to limited IT skills and resources.”
The Managed UTM security service will offer multiple security features integrated into one device, including Anti Virus, Anti Spam, Web Filtering and Deep Inspection (prevents application level attacks from flooding the network). It is a threat management service that will be offered to the SME as well as large enterprises within six different packages based on a short or long term contract for an end to end solution covering CPE (customer premise equipment), security license & maintenance and support. There is also a Web Filtering security feature which profiles a list of URLs according to customer requirements.
Customers will also benefit from multiple appliance options which cater to small branch offices as well as standalone businesses including large enterprises. Etislat’s UTM services, based on Juniper Networks SSG Series, can be accessed remotely for change of configuration, updating security patches, virus patterns, fault troubleshooting and restoration without the need to deploy manpower to the site.
The monitoring of the service will be done at Etisalat‘s Central Network Operation Center (CNOC) Customers can now maximize their existing IT infrastructure and resources by focusing on core business competencies while entrusting security to Etisalat’s ICT security professionals.
