Egypt’s Exports of Technology and Communication Services Grow 7.5 Per Cent

Sameh Montasser, CEO at BDO Esnad and president of the Call Centres Division in EITESAL, stressed the need to maximise the benefit of the call centres sector in Egypt.
Montasser says that it is also important to exploit Egypt’s competitive features in the field of specialised centres and to provide outsourcing services, reports Egypt-based Dostor.
“According to information technology global research firm, Everest Group, the outsourcing sector in Egypt employs about 90,000 people, including about 50,000 Egyptians who provide support services to overseas customers and Egypt’s exports of information and communication technology services growth rate is estimated 7.5 per cent,” adds Montasser.
Alaa Al Khishen, vice chairman of the Board of Directors of EITESAL, says: “Egypt is characterised by the availability of human resources – trained and qualified at the highest level, who also speak foreign languages fluently, in addition to the distinguished infrastructure of the Egyptian market.”
He adds, “In accordance with international studies, information technology research and advisory firm Gartner has pointed out that governments in the MENA [region] will spend about $11.97 billion on information technology products and services in 2015, up by 0.4 per cent from last year’s spending which amounted to $11.92bn.”
