Mindware Showcases Brocade’s High-End Networking Solutions For Enterprises And SMBs At ‘GITEX 2009’

Published Oct 20, 2009
Mindware, a leading IT distributor in the Middle East, is currently showcasing high-end networking switching technologies for both Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) and enterprise segments from Brocade (Nasdaq: BRCD), an industry leader in data centre networking solutions and services, at ‘GITEX Technology Week 2009’, at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. The leading IT distributor also revealed its plans to leverage its large channel reseller network in the Middle East to expand Brocade’s market share specifically in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) market.

This year marks the first time for Mindware to exhibit Brocade products at the prestigious event, following its recent signing as the first Middle Eastern distributor of the data centre networking solutions and services provider. Brocade’s portfolio of switches is designed to deliver end-to-end networking solutions with new levels of performance, scalability, and flexibility required for today’s enterprise campus networks. The products being showcased are FastIron Workgroup Switch (WS) Series), a complete line of one rack unit (1RU) enterprise-class Layer 2/Layer 3 switches, for SMBs, branch offices, and distributed enterprises; and a range of intelligent edge switches designed for enterprises (FastIron GS Series and the FastIron CX Series).

“We are confident of Brocade’s potential for networking products to provide performance, scalability, and flexibility required for enterprise networks in the Middle East,” said Nehme Mouchantaf, Networking and solutions dept manager, Mindware. “We foresee that our relationship with Brocade will be a win-win situation for both of us and a tremendous value to our channel partners. Our joint presence at ‘GITEX’ underlines the commitment we share in terms of driving the brand’s growth within our market.”

Brocade has positioned itself as a major market player within the field of Internet Protocol (IP), with a strong foothold in the storage area networking (SAN) arena, and the enterprise LAN and service provider markets, following its acquisition of Foundry Networks along with its switching and routing technology in 2008. As a testament to its commitment to the regional market, the company recently appointed Mindware as a ‘Brocade Alliance Partner Network Distributor’ for the Middle East and Africa to help expand its existing technology via the large Mindware channel database.

“By partnering with Mindware, Brocade is to leverage the company's extensive data centre networking and enterprise IP networking product expertise and solution support to help customers build extraordinary networks,” concluded Amanda Giddins, EMEA Channel Sales Director at Brocade.
