Free Coding Training Launched for Egyptian Educators

Published Sep 14, 2015

Hundreds of Egyptian educators have taken free courses on how to train students in computer coding skills, thanks to a pilot project launched recently for Africa Code Week 2015.

More than 300 university students, teacher assistants, and professors have learned coding skills in Alexandria. Following the training, each educator will aim to train at least 10 students during Africa Code Week 2015. The event will aim to engage with young people across the continent through coding workshops, and will be held from 1-10 October 2015.

The pilot program has been supported by the Africa Code Week team, SAP Europe, Middle East, and Africa’s Corporate Social Responsibility team, the SAP Middle East and North Africa Training and Development Institute, and SAP’s University Alliance partners Alexandria University, and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport.

For more information and to sign up for training sessions on basic programming and mobile app development, visit www.africacodeweek.org.
