Gitex: Cisco Demonstrates The Connected Life

Published Oct 21, 2009
Cisco is demonstrating its Connected Life solutions for consumers at the Gitex show in Dubai. With products ranging from the recently introduced Media Hub to wireless home networking devices and intelligent software solutions, Cisco will showcase how it helps to enable a connected life that is more personal, more social and more visual. Cisco is exhibiting the full Media Hub range for the first time in the region and introducing two new Wireless-N ADSL modem routers.

Highlights:

• Media Hub

Designed to simplify access to and interaction with digital content, the DLNA 1.5 certified Linksys by Cisco Media Hub gathers, organizes, and presents all the digital video, photos and music that users have spread amongst various devices in the home. With a Media Hub, consumers can enjoy all of their media through an easy to use interface that is accessible throughout the home. Next to the Media Hub that was recently launched Cisco now also introduces the Media Hub with LCD.

• New Wireless-N Products

Cisco will be showing two new ADSL modem routers at Gitex, the Linksys by Cisco Dual Band Wireless-N ADSL2+ Modem Gigabit Router (WAG320N) and Linksys by Cisco Wireless-N Home ADSL2+ Modem (WAG120N). Both are scheduled to be available in October this year and come with a free version of Network Magic. Cisco Network Magic is a home network management software solution which helps users set up, manage and protect a home network.

• Good-Better-Best

At the Gitex show visitors will be able to learn about the different Linksys by Cisco wireless home networking products. Through color coding the booth Cisco has created a good-better-best distinction in the product portfolio dividing it into three categories: Basic Wireless, Wireless Productivity and High Performance. Each category has its own isle on the Cisco booth with a live demonstration.

• Wireless Bridge

The Linksys by Cisco Dual-Band Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge can make a wired Ethernet-enabled device a part of a wireless network. It’s optimized for streaming video and can be connected to an Ethernet-enabled HDTV, Blu-ray® Disc player, DVR or set-top box or game console for consumers to discover a whole new world of entertainment. You can also convert your wired-Ethernet printer, scanner, camera, storage device, notebook, or desktop so everyone in your family can access these devices wirelessly.

• See it Live at Gitex

Cisco will demonstrate its Connected Life solutions live at the Gitex tradeshow in Dubai at booth number NH-U40.
