Infoblox Inc., the automated network control company, announced that it will demonstrate its latest innovations in DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI), secure Domain Name System (DNS), cloud network automation and global server load balancing (GSLB) technologies at GITEX Technology Week, 18-22 October, 2015.
Speaking about the company’s participation at the event, Cherif Sleiman, General Manager, Middle East at Infoblox says, “Trends such as Cloud, Big Data, Virtualization, Security and Mobility are in full effect in the Middle East and they are creating significant pressure as well as opportunities for some of the largest enterprises in the energy, government, telecom and finance sectors. We are in the midst of a wave of IT transformation and modernization and Infoblox is playing a critical role in helping enterprises manage and secure their IT infrastructure.”
“Regional organizations will focus on security as the number one area of IT spend given the fact that not only is the threat landscape constantly changing, but also the political turmoil in certain countries is adding another dimension of cyber warfare. DNS Security is an area that we believe regional organizations will start paying greater attention to as they begin to understand the damaging consequences of inadequate DNS security measures including lost revenue due to downtime, diminished customer satisfaction and lost productivity. We will be using Gitex as a platform for educating regional IT decision makers about Infoblox’s credentials of being the only vendor worldwide to provide holistic end-to-end DNS security and defense against the widest range of DNS-based attacks such as volumetric, exploits, and DNS hijacking attacks”.
The company will also demonstrate its Cloud Network Automation technology that was introduced early this year, which brings scalable network control to the next generation of private cloud deployments. Infoblox Cloud Network Automation delivers control that scales from pilot to production to multi-platform, so that private cloud deployments—regardless of size and scope—aren’t hobbled by manual processes for managing core network services.
With today’s technology trends including big data, cloud, mobility and social placing heavy demands on the network, Global Server Load Balancing can significantly enhance network response times and availability by distributing traffic among different servers based on server load, server health, and geographical proximity to the user. Gitex trade visitors stopping by the Infoblox stand can also get a first-hand look at Infoblox DNS Traffic Control, the first solution to add global server load balancing to enterprise-grade DNS appliances—enabling customers to use a single appliance to provide critical DNS network services while leveraging DNS to optimize network performance by intelligently directing traffic to appropriate servers.
Highlighting the growing need for network control and how Infoblox bridges the gap, Mr. Cherif says, “If we look at the BYOD trend, it throws into the mix a lot more devices that need to be controlled. The Virtualization trend is all about having a lot more virtual servers as compared to physical servers and the question is ‘how do organizations control that’. The Internet of Things (IoT) trend involves a lot more datacentres and end-points connected to the world of the internet where machine to machine and human to machine interactions will increase. All this is a huge change from the earlier world where the perimeter of the organization was defined and the IT department knew exactly how many PCs were connected to the network. Today, there are a lot more IT entities, some of them which you can’t even see (virtual machines) and the key is to understand how you actually manage all this infrastructure and endpoints.”
“Because of all these trends, IP address management (IPAM) solutions will be increasingly deployed in future. IPAM tools will give organizations the ability to discover all the infrastructure/ endpoints, visualize them and put policies on who and which devices can enter the network and what they can do. The other thing is that DNS and DHCP services have been taken for granted in the past. Today it is not OK to run them on routers and general purpose hardware, not only because they are coming under attack, but because they need to be able to scale. They need to be enterprise grade – secure, reliable services that the organization can depend on, because without them the enterprise will not be able to compute. DNS, DHCP and IPAM automation solutions will are looming large on the horizon and these are all technology areas where Infoblox is a leader.”
Speaking about the importance of participating at GITEX, Mr. Sleiman says, “GITEX offers a great platform for our company to expose our brand and showcase our latest innovations in hot areas like cloud, security and GSLB and create awareness about how customers can deal with these complex challenges. We are confident that our investment in this event, together with all the other significant investments we have been making in the Middle East and Africa during the last couple of years, including the recent appointment of a regional channel manager, will provide Infoblox with a platform for even greater success in future.”
Infoblox will be exhibiting at GITEX from stand number D1-27 in Hall 1 at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
