du And Cordys Introduce Major ‘Cloud’ Innovation In The United Arab Emirates

Published Oct 22, 2009
Cordys, a leading provider of software for business process innovation, today announced a strategic alliance with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company PJSC, operating under the brand ‘du’ in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). du will explore, test, evaluate and conduct friendly user trials with selected enterprise customers its new Software as a Service (SaaS) services composed in collaboration with the Cordys platform.

du is an integrated telecommunication services provider for consumers and business customers and operates its own telecommunications network across the UAE. du offers a complete range of telecommunication and entertainment services, including mobile and fixed line telephony, broadband internet, TV, video on demand and specific business and consumer oriented solutions. Using the (SaaS) Deployment Framework and the Cordys Process Factory, du will test and run mashup applications (MashApps®), hosted in its own data centre.

Farid Faraidooni, EVP Commercial, du commented: “We are currently in the process of evaluating and selecting business software applications for deployment on SaaS for enterprises. Thanks to the Cordys Process Factory technology this can be achieved so rapidly and easily that it has been possible to demonstrate a number of these new services in weeks.”

This new proposition for end-users will offer straightforward MashApps® and a composer tool to build MashApps®,, with drag-and-drop functionality for business users and out-of-the box integration with integration with Google Apps™. Web-based, process-centric applications allow fast integration with on-premise systems and on-demand services in the Cloud.

Jan Baan, Cordys CEO said: “We are very excited about the speed of adoption for our Cloud solutions. The new du marketplace, built on Cordys’ platform as a service technology, offers flexible and scalable IT integration and innovation services without any software deployment and maintenance. On-demand IT services on a pay-as-you-go basis will lower the cost for users, and at the same time ISVs will be able to generate predictable revenue.”

Efficiency and cost reduction remain important business drivers, but they have now become part of a complex myriad of factors that are in a permanent state of flux. Jan Baan commented: “It is clear that traditional application models that have their origins in the pre-Internet age can in no way satisfy the requirements for rapid change and innovation that companies and organizations contend with in today’s business climate. The Cordys Cloud technology makes this possible and allows organizations of any size to become flexible and to continuously optimize their business processes.”
