The countdown to the third edition of the Cisco sponsored Internet of Things World Forum (IoTWF) 2015 has started. There is less than a month to go until more than 1500 government officials, heads of business, academia and researchers, from all over the world, descend on Dubai to discuss and share best practice on the dramatic transformations now gaining momentum across every global sector and creating a new world of opportunities made possible by the Internet of Things (IoT).
The Dubai IoTWF announced in January 2015, will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from December 6-8, 2015. Driven by a steering committee comprising industry visionaries, technologists, executives, and educators who are committed to accelerating the awareness and adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, the IoTWF 2015 aims to convene top thought leaders, implementers and creators across public sector, private business and education from throughout the Middle East as well as globally in one place at one time to collaborate, network, partner and build the industry's ecosystem together.
Boasting a packed agenda of keynote sessions and technical break-outs over the three days, delegates will gain valuable insights into the value and momentum of global IoT strategies and deployments as well as discuss and share of best practices on every front – flexibility, scalability, security, availability, and connectivity - as individuals, companies, and governments accelerate and optimize their IoT deployments, driving dramatic gains in efficiency, economic value, and quality of life. Hosted by Cisco in partnership with industry steering committee members, the event is now well respected as a premier leadership forum for key stakeholders and innovators who are driving IoT adoption worldwide.
During the forum, attendees will have the opportunity to experience multiple proofs of concepts (PoCs) in Dubai, nearly all demonstrating horizontal integration deployments into the city digital platform including a dynamic mix of smart city and cross-vertical solutions. Smart city solutions such as parking, lighting, and waste management, will be highlighted in addition to cross vertical solutions in transportation, environmental and energy monitoring, safety and security, banking, aviation, and education. Tours of the Command and Control Center will demonstrate the horizontal integration of nearly all the PoCs into the City Digital Platform to enable aggregation of data from various sensors, solutions, and partners, advanced data analytics, a wide spectrum of urban services, and partner applications. Furthermore, attendees will also be able to experience the path of the ‘city of the future transformation’ through a walking or self-guided tour around Dubai World Trade Center or bus tour to Dubai Design District (d3).
Keynote speakers will comprise a strong lineup of globally respected IoT subject matter experts including John Chambers, Executive Chairman, Cisco.
Executive Quotes:
Rabih Dabboussi, General Manager, Cisco UAE.
“We are looking forward to hosting some of the world’s leading IoT experts and visionaries in Dubai in December at what promises to be the landmark IoT event of the year. Dubai, already one of the most technologically advanced cities, is rapidly transforming into becoming the smartest digital city in the world in line with the vison laid out by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, back in 2013. With less than a month to go before IoTWF kicks off, we are already impressed by the sheer number of registrations and those who are showing a huge interest in attending the forum. The IoT is gaining tremendous momentum globally and we are proud that Dubai is one of the cities at the forefront of driving this momentum which will be showcased on a global platform.”
