SAP will help prepare a third group of young professionals for technology jobs in Egypt, aiding the next generation of talent in a country where ICT revenue is set to double over the next five years.
Egypt’s incremental revenue from ICT sector innovation is set to grow from USD 1 billion in 2015 to USD 2.2 billion in 2020, according to a report by the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government and SAP.
The SAP Training and Development Institute’s programs have created an in-country value of USD 6.4 million for Egypt, as SAP works closely with Egypt’s private and public sector to modernize and boost the economy and reduce unemployment. In-country value measures the total value a company creates in a country or region across business development, human development, and economic productivity.
“This program will benefit youth in Egypt and help them contribute to stability and prosperity in the region,” said Marita Mitschein, Managing Director, Training and Development Institute, SAP MENA. “SAP believes IT can transform the lives of people in the Middle East and transform the region’s development and economic growth.”
SAP’s Young Professional Program covers hands-on training in cutting-edge SAP solutions with graduates becoming SAP Certified Associate Consultants, with global certification in SAP’s innovative solutions, tools, and offerings. They can join any one of more than 1,350 SAP customers or more than 120 SAP partners in the Middle East and North Africa.
“It was a cultivating journey, which helped me thrive and introduced me to a new community,” said former program graduate Amr Abdulhamid. “The journey was fun, but it required a lot of dedication and hard work to achieve your goal."
To give youth a brighter future while helping businesses find the skilled entry-level employees they need, SAP has taken a further step by collaborating with ‘Education For Employment Egypt’ (EFE|Egypt). EFE|Egypt was established in 2009 and implements market-driven training programs for unemployed, marginalized Egyptian youth that prepare them to succeed as employees and entrepreneurs. In partnership with EFE|Egypt.
Now, SAP will host a third cohort of SAP’s Young Professional Program in Egypt starting in November.
“EFE|Egypt is excited to partner with SAP to provide 18 Egyptian youth with a quality training program to equip them with the technical and soft skills in high demand with local employers. Thanks to support from the U.S.-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI), these 18 youth will join the nearly 1,000 other youth EFE|Egypt has placed in private-sector jobs since beginning programming in 2009,” said Ismail El Habrouk, EFE|Egypt Chief Executive Officer.
