Karcher to Whizz Dakar Rally 2016 into Cleanliness

Published Jan 3, 2016

Karcher, the world leader in innovative cleaning technology and solutions is set to be an official supplier at Dakar Rally 2016 for the fifth year in a row. Additionally, Karcher is sponsoring the team of KTM and Mini X-Raid.

“It is a great pleasure to be involved in this high-octane global event. The spectators and participants at the event can easily forget about the cleanliness of the area, but that’s where we are the superstars. It is a challenging environment, but it is also the best moment to prove our machines capabilities,’’ said Mr. Mazen Abou Chakra, Export sales director, speaking with enthusiasm on Karcher’s involvement at the Dakar Rally. Karcher has had resounding success at the last four Dakar Rallies.

Karcher will ensure that vehicles are kept clean by installing cleaning stations with extra powerful pressure washers and wet and dry vacuum cleaners from the professional series at two bivouacs in Salta (Argentina) and Uyuni (Bolivia). All teams will be able to have their vehicles cleaned thoroughly before they hit the road on the next day.

Kärcher’s equipment at Dakar 2016 enables water savings of almost 80% compared to traditional car washing with water hose and sponge usage. Furthermore, high pressure is an environmentally friendly alternative to using chemicals and leads to better cleaning results in a much shorter time. At the cleaning centres, the waste water will be carefully collected and recycled for the sake of saving water.

The service was highly appreciated during the past events of Dakar Rally; in 2015 about 2,000 racing and support vehicles were washed in three Kärcher cleaning centres along the route; thus enhancing the safety of the racing drivers. Karcher high pressure equipment were demonstrating high efficiency and quality in these tough conditions.

The 2016 Dakar Rally is to be held in Argentina and Bolivia and begins 03 January 2016.
