Sky News Arabia Launches Football Application

Published Mar 22, 2016

Sky News Arabia has announced the launch of a new application dedicated to the world of local, regional and international football, allowing fans to keep up to date with the latest football news via their smartphones and tablets.

Nart Bouran, CEO of Sky News Arabia (@NartBouran), announced the launch on his official Twitter handle on Monday. Bouran added: “This application is the result of Sky News Arabia’s business philosophy of continuous innovation and development of products for the benefit of our followers across all platforms. This latest addition to the Sky News Arabia portfolio reflects our keenness to provide football fans with all the latest news about clubs and star players along with a wide selection of statistics, photos and videos.

“The application is a complete guide for football fans that allows followers to check live scores, learn more about team formations, club rankings, top scorers, and final results, and access in-depth analyses and commentaries. Users will also be able to participate in opinion polls, share content on social media, and subscribe to exclusive breaking news alerts - all in an attractive contemporary interface that allows easy accessibility and browsing. We are very proud of our Software Development and Digital Strategy Department’s use of state-of-the art technology.”

The newly expanded and updated football section on the website also received unprecedented attention because of the region’s huge football fan base. This application is the perfect complement to our programs and sports news on Sky News Arabia TV and radio, including the popular Malaeb program.”

The Sky News Arabia football app is available for free on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Plans are underway to introduce it on the Windows Phone and BlackBerry 10 platforms at a later stage.
