3Com Wins Contract With Schneider Electric in United Arab Emirates

3Com is providing energy provider Schneider Electric in the UAE with a complete core-to-edge network which will help the company make energy safer and more reliable. The 3Com network infrastructure at Schneider Electric’s regional headquarters in Dubai’s Silicon Oasis consists of 3Com switches with a full wireless solution and centralized network management.
At the core of Schneider Electric’s high availability network, a redundant pair of 3Com Switches S7910E and S7900E provides 7x24x365 availability, high performance, and long term investment protection. Their highly resilient and scalable architecture ensures virtually non-stop operation and up to 768 Gigabit-per-second capacity for Ethernet switching and routing up to 10-Gigabit speeds. At the distribution layer and at the edge of the network, 3Com Switches 5500-EI PWR deliver enterprise-class features with space-saving stackability and energy efficiency. Wireless connectivity throughout the building is provided by 3Com Wireless LAN Switch Managed Access Point AP2750s managed by a 3Com Wireless LAN Controller WX2200. The entire network is managed by 3Com Network Director, and maintenance is covered by a 12-month Software Upgrade Service.
