D-Link Middle East, the end-to-end computer network solutions provider for consumer and businesses, today released the D-ViewCam Add-in for Microsoft Windows Home Server, a software application that, when paired with a home server, lets users quickly and easily manage and access D-Link's most popular home security cameras from any computer with a web browser.
Windows Home Server helps families and the small office/home office with multiple PCs economically connect their digital experiences, providing a familiar, easy and reliable way to protect, connect and organize what's most important.
Windows Home Server offers automatic backup, system restore, and enhanced data protection, remote access, centralized storage and sharing of files, the ability to increase storage capacity and more.
With the D-ViewCam Add-in installed on Windows Home Server, video and motion monitoring are recorded from D-Link security cameras directly to the server. Users can configure the recording schedules and access recorded or streaming video from the home server using a web browser.
"We are pleased that D-Link is continuing to extend the value of Windows Home Server with the D-ViewCam Add-in,"said Steven Leonard, Microsoft Senior Product Manager for Windows Home Server.
"Windows Home Server provides a perfect platform for D-Link's popular surveillance solutions, providing peace-of-mind for customers at home and in their business."
The D-ViewCam software for Windows Home Server provides viewing, recording, playback and streaming of video, along with camera and storage management. Users can remotely access their IP surveillance system from any computer with Internet access. Four cameras can be viewed at once on a single screen.
The D-ViewCam Add-in can be downloaded from http://hq.dlink.com/whs and works with the following D-Link network camera models: DCS-1100, DCS-1130, DCS-2121 and DCS-920.
"We're working on developing more D-Link devices that are Microsoft Windows Home Server compatible so our customers can quickly and easily derive more benefits from some of our most popular products," said Harrison Albert, Regional Sales Director at D-Link Middle East.
"I believe our customers will appreciate how simple it is for network devices to be recognized and installed on the server and will value the remote access that it provides," Harrison added.
