Al Masaood Group opens the largest Boat Services and Maintenance Centre in the Middle East in ICAD II

HE Falah Al Ahbabi, Chairman of ZonesCorp attended a ceremony for the opening of the Al Masaood Centre for Boat Services and Maintenance, which is the largest of its kind in the Middle East. The centre will provide a full range of services for all the clients of Al Masaood, for both local and international clients.

The Boat Centre is situated on a 26,000 sqm plot is supervised by a highly-qualified team of experts, providing the full range of services relating to the maintenance of boats. Moreover, the centre is equipped with the latest equipment and tools and operates in-line with the highest international service standards of maintenance.

The 24hr centre’s services include: custom outfits, testing, general maintenance, repairs, instillations, overhauls, training, certifications, project planning and management of energy and propulsion systems.

HE Saeed Eisa Al Khyeli, Director General of ZonesCorp commented: “We are very happy to see this project move forward, every time one of our partners in the private sector takes a step forward with a project such as this, it is a step forward for the wider economy in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.”

Al Khyeli added: “We congratulate Al Masaood Group on their latest accomplishment. The new centre is the largest workshop for engine maintenance in the Middle East and includes the maintenance of German (battle) tanks engines. This is the latest achievement in a long list of ground breaking achievements for the company.

HE Abdulla Al Masaood, Chairman of Al Masaood Group revealed that the cost of this project was almost AED100mand pointed out the role this project will play in supporting the local economy of the emirate of Abu Dhabi by providing numerous job opportunities and attracting internationally qualified experts into the local market which in turn will make the capital more attractive to international investors.

Since its inception ZonesCorp has played a key role in developing the industrial sector in the UAE and Abu Dhabi in particular, ZonesCorp has adopted a clear strategy to increase the contribution of the manufacturing sector to overall GDP and to strengthening its position as one of the leading sectors that contribute to the increase of non-oil exports.

ZonesCorp is currently housing over 650 industrial facilities and attracting US$8bn worth of investment from local and international companies into its Economic Zones thanks to its world-class infrastructure and transport links and business friendly, tax free environment.
