Veeam Sets Focus on ‘Availability for the Always-On Enterprise’ at Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2017 in Dubai

Published Feb 26, 2017

Veeam Software today announced that it has signed up as a ‘Premier Sponsor’ of the upcoming Gartner Symposium/ITxpo that will take place in Dubai from the 28 February – 2 March 2017. In line with the conference theme ‘Lead 360. Drive Digital to the Core’, Veeam will provide attendees with insights on making digital a core competence for their organizations. The company will use the event as a platform to demonstrate its latest innovations that ensure 24.7.365 data centre availability for the ‘Always-On’ enterprise.

Discussing Veeam’s participation at the event, Mr. Gregg Petersen, Regional Director, Middle East and Africa at Veeam Software says, “Today’s rapid pace of technological innovation is forcing digital and physical worlds to collide – and it’s also transforming the way organizations operate in every industry. This digital transformation can either make or break your business, because, in the digital world, customers expect 24.7.365 Availability.”

“For today’s enterprises, this means that expectations for SLAs for data and application uptime can be revolutionized. No longer do businesses need to think in hours or days – they can think in minutes or seconds instead – for all applications, data, and workloads. At the event we intend to educate CIOs and IT managers about the need to migrate from legacy backup systems that simply can’t keep up with demands for a growing number of applications to be up and running 24.7.365, to an ‘Availability’ solution that is a critical component of the company’s digital transformation strategy.”

Veeam will have a booth at the symposium where attendees can learn more about the Veeam Availability Suite 9.5, the latest version of the company’s flagship software solution that is engineered to support enterprises seeking the ability to run their businesses uninterrupted as they adopt more virtualized, cloud-first technologies.

Omar Akhtar, Regional Channel Manager, Middle East & SAARC at Veeam Software will deliver a keynote speech, giving attendees an insight into the secret formula for success in helping their organizations become Always-On enterprises. The IT heads of Orbit Showtime Network and Al Naboodah Group, two of Veeam’s customers, will then share their success stories in a Q&A format. There will also be a ‘theatre session’ conducted by Mr. Gregg Petersen on the ‘Challenges of Data Availability’.

“Regional CIOs and IT managers are investing in modernizing their data centres through virtualization, the latest cutting edge storage technologies and the cloud. But it’s not enough. Data loss, long recovery times, unreliable data protection and a lack of visibility into the IT environment are slowing organizations down. It’s time for a change. And we want to provide IT decision makers with a roadmap for this transformation,” concludes Mr. Petersen.
