Trend Micro Cements Commitment to Egyptian Market with Appointment of New Country Manager

Published Jun 4, 2017

Trend Micro Incorporated, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, announced today the appointment of Miss. Noura Hassan as the country manager for Trend Micro Egypt with immediate effect.

Noura Hassan joins Trend Micro at a time when cybersecurity is a major concern for IT managers and decision makers in Egypt. Noura Hassan brings a wealth of in-depth experience to her new post, with more than 14 years of regional, and local experience in the IT industry.

“Noura Hassan joins a very strong and dedicated Trend Micro team, already boasting a robust market presence in Egypt,” commented Ihab Moawad, VP Mediterranean, Mid. East, Africa, Russia & CIS. “I am pleased to have someone with her experience, who I know will further ensure continued success for Trend Micro in this important and strategic market.”

With the rise of malicious cyber-activity in Africa, Egypt is among the most affected African countries, especially with the evolution of mobile and cloud networks. Noura Hassan is adamant that this accelerated expansion of new cloud technologies in Egypt will not be hindered by a parallel growth in cybercrime.

“Cybercriminal activity in Egypt is at its highest level, and companies and government entities need robust security solutions to protect themselves. As a company, Trend Micro is dedicated to making the digital environment as safe as possible for companies and individuals, and I am keen to make our industry leading security solutions more widely available. Trend Micro is keen to support its loyal customers with the best support services and latest advanced technologies to cope with the aggressive cyber threats, and our channel ecosystem has to play an even bigger role, and I plan to empower our channel partners, making them more profitable, so that we can grow our business simultaneously,” commented Hassan.

Trend Micro's channel ecosystem will also be a top priority for Noura Hassan. Trend Micro partners can look forward to an increased focus on establishing and building long term relationships, streamlined communication, and increased profitability.

The past few years has seen a surge in investment from Trend Micro in Egypt, and her priority will be to continue delivering Trend Micro's industry leading products and solutions to protect Egyptian interests, in an increasingly global market. Noura Hassan will also focus on further growing the company, as well as strengthening and building its already robust distribution and channel community in the country.

Trend Micro has been working diligently in Egypt, helping to secure major governmental entities, financial houses, and the oil and gas sector. In the past two years, we have seen a steady increase in cybercriminal activity, and our latest cyber security solutions has been invaluable in helping our customers protect their data and corporate assets against Ransomware, Spams and Targeted attacks.
