Etisalat Participates At GASCO IT Exhibition

Etisalat today announced its participation at the first ever IT Exhibition conducted by GASCO (Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd) in Abu Dhabi which took place from November 1-3,2009. During the three day event, Etisalat which is a key ICT partner of GASCO presented attendees with comprehensive insights on opportunities to enhance productivity, reduce complexities and optimize costs through a variety of ICT services.
During the exhibition, Etisalat also conveyed its new technologies and services roadmap in line with the latest trends in IP, mobility & managed services to support GASCO‘s ambitious organizational growth plans. This will support GASCO‘s long terms plans in line with its strategic importance as a key member in the country’s Hydrocarbons product chain.
From an ICT perspective, the important drivers for companies in the energy and oil sector like GASCO are to create a collaborative environment and linkages along multiple dimensions in order to gain operational efficiencies. Deriving productivity gains and gaining agility in operations are other important criteria for companies like GASCO.
Etisalat is currently working with GASCO on a number of ICT initiatives. One such initiative is migration of their existing legacy ATM network to IP VPN which will provide GASCO with a scalable platform to accommodate any future growth in the network in addition to providing a converged network which unifies its voice, data and video communications. With mobility playing a critical role in impacting the business process cycle, Etisalat is helping GASCO with its BlackBerry solutions to leverage productivity gains across teams and operations.
