Huawei, a leader in providing next generation telecommunication networks, was recently recognized by R&D Magazine, with an R&D 100 Award for its advanced Optix OSN 6800/OSN 3800 wavelength division multiplexer. This award is highly respected in the technology and innovation fields, and is dubbed by many in the industry as an "Oscar for Invention".
Huawei’s Optix OSN 6800/OSN 3800 wavelength division multiplexer, approved by IBM for GDPS/STP applications, is able to provide dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) for independent data channels using any protocol. The product places each data channel on a different wavelength (frequency) of light, enabling operators to send numerous channels of data over the same fiber. This ground-breaking solution can increase the amount of traffic carried on computer networks and enable operators to achieve significant cost savings on fiber.
Ihab Ghattas, Assistant President of Huawei in the Middle East said: “This cutting-edge product and prestigious industry award are a direct result of Huawei’s persistent focus on customer-centric innovation and commitment to creating pioneering solutions that meet customers’ unique needs while reducing their total cost of ownership.”
