Interview With Allot Communications' Rami Hadar

Published Dec 8, 2013

Q. Please give us a brief about your company.

Allot provides intelligent broadband solutions that put mobile, fixed and enterprise networks at the center of the digital lifestyle. Our Deep Packet Inspection (DPI)-based solutions allow operators to identify business intelligence on their networks, capitalize on network traffic and subscriber behavior and ultimately create new revenue opportunities. With more than 1,000 deployments, including global Tier-1 service providers, our solutions directly reach more than 1.5 billion subscribers in more than 100 countries every day.

Q. Tell us more about your products and solutions.

Allot’s solutions enhance the way operators are valued by their customers by providing the ability to offer personalized “digital lifestyle services.” Our Service Gateway enables a myriad of use cases – including traffic management, policy control, video caching, security, reporting and analytics. By changing the way in which operators provide digital connectivity services, Allot’s Service Gateway improves their ability to monetize their networks. By challenging the traditional “utility” business model and creating new revenue-generating models, we help operators earn higher ARPU and lower churn.

Q. Give us a brief about Allot ClearSee.

ClearSee is a new solution that provides a breakthrough approach to big data analytics. Delivering never-before-seen levels of depth and granularity, it allows service providers to capture and analyze a rich variety of application, subscriber, device and Quality of Experience (QoE) data from their own networks and then transform the source data into valuable business intelligence.

Q. What is Allot ClearSee's benefit to operators?

ClearSee allows operators to view new dimensions of information that facilitate a deeper understanding and new ways to look at business and market opportunities. Using ClearSee, network data is quickly transformed into actionable business intelligence that can be used to improve network efficiency, plan infrastructure investments, segment markets, and plan new service offerings. This allows operators to create differentiated service plans that are tailored to customer needs, leading to an increase in revenues and reducing churn.

Q. How do you differentiate yourself from competitors?

Allot has taken a leading position by combining the industry's strongest DPI capabilities with a flexible operating mechanism that allows operators to easily scale and adapt their traffic management and analytics capabilities. Our subscriber profiles are among the most granular and complete in the industry, providing unmatched, actionable information on both network traffic and subscriber behavior

While other solutions may be restricted to pre-defined dashboards, our interactive UI for mining data is extremely user-friendly and customizable. Another key strength is that our open platform is compatible with external carrier feeds and easy to integrate with third party applications.

We are pleased to have captured a significant global market share and look forward to continue serving as a valued partner to our customers around the world.

Rami Hadar joined Allot in 2006 in order to complete the company's transformation to a service provider-focused global business. For more than 20 years, he has been establishing and leading telecommunications companies and developing global businesses that address the needs of fixed and mobile service providers.
